think out of the box - how to boost your creativity PLUS october playlist

Some are blessed with it and some aren't - creativity. But how could I ever write a post about creativity if there wasn't a way to learn it? OF COURSE, I got your back. You don't have to be Da Vinci, Einstein or Picasso to be a creative mind. All the potential is already there.
A little bit of research and a little bit of my own ideas all summed up - and there you go, a little guideline to make your brain a busy idea factory!

Like athletes who train more and more in order to boost their calorie consumption it's the same with creative minds. Cultivating the process of finding ideas is only possible if you constantly challenge yourself.
Ideas don't come out of nowhere. Being a reflexion of your unconscious mind, they are a production of what you've seen and experienced.
Plus, there are special parts of your brain being responsable for creative thinking. Since biology and neurology is nothing I should talk about, I leave it up to you to inform yourself in case you want further information.

Anyways, all I'm trying to say is, that you are able to LEARN being creative. Coming to the most important question that everyone is dying to know here: the "HOW?"

1. Get input

There's no processing information without information. It seems likely to get input from a field that you're trying to be creative in. No doubt, if you want to be more creative when it comes to drawing, you obviously want to be looking at paintings. When you write a song you can orientate yourself at previous songs in the genre.
But the best thing you can do to find the best ideas is putting all the artistic disciplines in combination. For "beginners" it's the easiest way to find inspiration in something similar. The more you develop the more you will find inspiration in anything. The nature, other countries, people, etc... It will become an addiction and you'll be constantly searching for input to create ideas.

2. Prepare to be criticised and handle it right

What will definitely occur in the process of being creative is criticism in any form. Creativity as a product of a complex combination of character, experiences, and ability to actually regognize your surroundings is a personal thing. Needless to say that you won't always find people that share the same opinion about anything personal. Whenever you get criticised you can either learn from it (without changing your style) or feel offended - your choice.

3. Get at least a little bit organised

I know, they say creative minds are able to handle any chaos but I'm telling you that even the most creative person struggles with a mess of information. Leave yourself the space that you need in order to be creative but write stuff down, put it in order and make life easier for you. Producing ideas is already hard enough. Don't make it even harder by sorting stuff out first.

4. Be open-minded and try new stuff

We all know these horrible people who haven't been interested in anything other than THEIR environment. People who have been living in the exact same place their whole life, travelling at the exact same place for years and talking about the exact same people since forever. We all know that these people have a tiny horizon. Not that it's their fault, very often it's just a matter of familiar, financial and/or educational circumstances. But it's a matter of fact that those people have a lack of creativity unless they were naturally born with it.
You simply cannot come up with new ideas if you arent constantly exposed to something new. Move around, travel to different places, meet different people and simply be OPEN MINDED! You have to keep in mind that you and your closest environment are only an itty-bitty part of this world and there's so much more to discover.

There are a whole bunch of psychological aspects of gaining creativity and thinking outside the box. I've linked them down below in case you're interested in opinions of others (YOU SHOULD!)
